-Myles Nelson is a 25 year old emerging country recording artist/songwriter - blending country, pop and rock and r&b influences to create a completely original sound of his own. Myles tries to steer away from the conformed box that people use today, and strives to create a sound that all genre lovers can enjoy. Simply offering a diamond that has yet to be clarified.
Inspired by such acts as Sam Hunt, Tyler Rich, Chase Rice and Dustin Lynch. To the new retro sounds of Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift and Adele leaves him open to so many inspirations - Myles comes from the small backwoods town of Monetta, SC. In his early years he was picked on in school for being "different" and often discouraged that he would not be noticed for his special talents. In which he always felt he served a higher purpose than the normal person. Receiving an electric guitar at the age of 14 and picking up an acoustic at 20. He began writing consistently, composing hundreds of songs in just the short time of 5 years with such desire and passion for perfection in songwriting, that every song he creates is nothing short of a hit song.
When Myles was just 10 years old he was diagnosed with meningitis. It was a miracle that he survived the illness but made a great recovery. This in turn helped him discover his strong points in art, English, and Literature. He realized just how fast your life can be over and to just put your best into every day you breath. Knowledge, Strategy and Execution are now the words he lives by.
When Myles graduated from Ridge Spring-Monetta High School in 2008, he had no idea what he wanted to be. But, he still wanted to pursue something in music. He felt he served a bigger purpose. After obtaining job after job and share of misfortune, despite his rigorous work ethic- he realized that maybe he just was not cut out for the real world and started focusing more on his dreams.
Being homeless on numerous occasions, living out of vehicles, and with friends off and on, praying for his next meal has also pushed him to be something more. In 2013, he was called by America's Got Talent to receive a front of the line pass for auditions in Atlanta, GA. Myles made it to the executive producers and awaited a call in January 2014, in which he missed the call due to moving to a new city. With lack of financial support for recordings of his music, in March 2015 his management (Andrews Elite Mgmt.) funded a 3 track DEMO-EP recorded in 8 hours entitled "the first step forward."
In June 2015, Myles was lucky enough to stumble upon producer Matthew Jacques and record his current radio single "Just Can't Wait" (Myles and Matt composed all the instrumentals) which has received airplay on stations -NEWCOUNTRYUSA-, G-105.7 and WALI-93.7 in Missouri, Georgia and South Carolina for several months.
Myles is currently recording his next single "Call Me Your Man" set to release by January 2016. Holding the Reverbnation charts number one spot in the genre of country for South Carolina since July 2015 and gaining a numerous amount of new fans through social media daily, he is surely on his way to becoming the next breakout artist. His dream goal is to one day tour with his idol Sam Hunt. He attended the pre party concert at the Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC in May 2015 to see Hunt perform. This pushed him even further to pursue what he wanted most in life. To be loved for who he is and his gift and love all of his fans equally if not greater.
"This is the life I want, it's very stressful keeping up with all of the fans, but I love every second of it, hearing all of the stories and how I inspire them for so many things is just so unreal. It touches my heart with every connection I receive. I am just one guy, but I have a heart of a billion. I never want to lose connection with those who got me where I am now."
Myles will be recording his first full length album " The Last Step Back" which will consist of 13 original tracks written and composed by him in January 2016. Myles has done his share of shows, including headlining acts. He wants to learn the ropes of touring and essentially how to further his stage presence.
Myles's uncle- Scotty Hawkins (One of the most sought after drummers in Nashville, has been a full time percussionist of such acts as Reba(9 years) in early early days, Brooks and Dunn, Joe Nichols, and Keith Urban. All in which he is good friends with. Scotty now tours with Kix Brooks and Myles aspires to be as dedicated as his uncle has since his career began as a drummer.
